The BFG is the best books about giants out there right or left ? Right!
This book was and still is one of my all time favorite books. Roald Dahl is a master word crafter and story teller. He will have your brain a turning and your emotions playing bingo.
The BFG by Roald Dahl is about an orphan named Sophie who makes the mistake of being up at witching hour and is kidnapped by a giant. Not just any giant, the Big Friendly Giant who catches dreams and spreads the good ones to all the little boys and girls. The BFG takes her to Giant Country and hides her in his cave. He explains to her that she can never go back because no one can know about giants or there will be a giant hunt. She cannot go out of the cave without him because the other giants will gobble her up. Sometime passes and the two bond but the man- eating- giants always get in the way. The other giants go too far when they decide to ransack a boarding school in England. Sophie comes up with a plan that involves the Queen of England and will rely heavily on the BFGs skills.
Natasha Richardson does an AMAZING job at bringing this book to life. By far this is the best audio-book narration I have ever heard. She does all the voices which helps make each character distinct and real. For the best experience listen to this audio version while following along in the book so you can look at the fantastic illustrations by Quentin Blake.
