Penny is a girl that struggles with the abandonment of her mother as well as the difficulties of growing up.  Her life is further complicated by having a gorgeous sister and no looks for herself as well as an overprotective father.  Her friends don’t all get along with each other and the story starts off where sadly one is in the middle of being phased out by the queen bee.  Penny feels wrong about this and that causes a problem.  And then of course there are the boys; enter Penny’s first boyfriend…. exit first boyfriend as fast as he entered the scene, as it usually goes.  There is always the crush on the bad boy; well Penny knows how to pick them.  Most crushes never become a reality her’s does.  Read to find out all the drama of growing up, Penny-style, the best part is the story is told through poems.
